Hidden Costs Operators Don't Always Mention

  1. Travel insurance — Non-negotiable for Tibet yatra. Standard medical insurance does not cover high-altitude trekking above 4,000 metres. Get a dedicated adventure travel policy with helicopter evacuation cover. Expect ₹3,500–7,000.
  2. Medical check-up — Most operators require a medical fitness certificate. Your doctor visit and tests can cost ₹2,000–5,000.
